  1. Yup!

  2. They have, and been ignored.

The Government should try the ''Windfall Tax'' action.

Do what we say or we will tax you to h**l.

They do it with Joe Public, so why not do it with the big energy companies.

Or are the ones that count looking for Directorships when their political life falls to bits.

  3. They could do a great deal of good by removing the VAT from gas and electricity bills.  They could also reduce the fuel tax.  Pigs might also fly but that is one of the solutions available to them if they really are concerned about the effect of their tax grabbing and economic policies on the public.

  4. This is where having strong leadership comes in, in dealing with these company's yes they should step in & have it out with them.

But since this is Gordon Brown we are talking about, it wouldnt make a blind bit of difference if he did, the man holds no credibility with anyone anymore & because of this we all suffer im afraid  :)

  5. Since when was it the governments responsibility to control everything?

If you want this price rise to stop do following:

    1. Convince the entire population of U.K. and other powerful nations (G8) China and India to stop using electricity and gas. Have a worldwide protest.

    2. Get the world population to force companies to use renewable energy because it is free in the long term.

    3. Force companies to sacrifice profits  and billionaire CEOs to take a fair wage to pay for the setup/ infrastructure of renewable energy.

    4. Force companies to put solar panels on all roofs of houses and buildings and excess electricity you can sell back to the National Grid.

    3. Do nothing until the demands are met.

Then you have cheaper electricity for future generations as well as yourself.

Less spending on electricity keeps inflation low also.

The government has little say in what companies do but billions of people aka profit have a great say.

  6. Well, it would be better than some overpaid incompetent saying, Carry On Film style "Ooohhh! FANCY. All the energy prices have gone up again - well I never! ..... Wonder who'll win at the Oval".....

  7. they wouldnt have to if the tories hadnt flogged them off

these people who keep saying david cameron is the solution are living in cloud cuckoo land

  8. When has this government ever done what they should ? They enjoy being able to help themselves to a life of ease and sleaze.

  9. This is more money for the government. VAT. more money for the coffers. So why would they want to stop that! what would this extra money be spent on though!
