Enes Kanter, Derrick Williams: The rising stars in the NBA draft 2011 (Part-2)
Enes Kanter
The busiest person working out for the NBA draft at the momentum is the Turkish Basketball player Enes Kanter. The Turkish prodigy has earned the reputation of the best centre available in this year’s draft due to his gigantic
physique and dominating game-play.
The mystery man in this year’s draft has finally stepped on the basketball courts this offseason to showcase his extraordinary talent. The big man Kanter was not seen in action since more than a year as National Collegiate Athletic
Association restrained him to play college basketball when he joined the University of Kentucky. The reason was   he kept on playing for the Fenerbahce in both the Turkish and Euro leagues. Due to this, his extent of abilities and potential was a mystery for
the NBA executives.
The 6 foot 11 inch Kanter earned a lot of reputation in the league after a dazzling performance in the Nike Hoop Summit for the World team more than thirteen months ago. Enes smashed the American team with 34 points and 13 rebounds
who were carrying two best players Jared Sullinger from Ohio State and Harrison Barnes from North Carolina.
Coming into the world of NBA, Kanter said, "Finally I can show myself to NBA guys. I'm so happy here, finally. That was my dream. I didn't play college, so I have to show myself to people. I don't have to hide anything. I'm here.
I haven't played in a long time. I have to show myself because no one has seen me play yet."
Even though, Kanter didn’t played college basket for a longer period however he impressed the NBA scouts in a very short time and continues to showcase his tremendous talent.
With the Minnesota Timberwolves who has the second pick overall, the influential centre can form a formidable duo with Kevin Love. Both the players can power the team with their electrifying talent. If Wolves leaves Enes on the
board, there are strong chances that Kanter will be selected by the Utah Jazz who is looking for a big man to power them from both the ends.
Derrick Williams
University of Arizona Wildcats’ spirited small forward Derrick Williams is considered as the top prospect along with Kyrie Irving of Duke. There will be a tough contest between Williams and Irving for the first pick which will
be drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cleveland also holds the fourth pick in the draft however Williams is expected to be selected by then if Cavaliers pick Kyrie in the first place.
Cleveland’s coach Bryon Scott said on Williams, “He’s a guy that people say is a tweener, but I think he can play both. He’s going to obviously have to get better on the defensive end, but he’s just a great athlete, and if we were
to have him, he’d give J.J. [Hickson] and those guys a run for their money [at power forward].”
Derrick is a dynamic player and with the kind of talent he carries, there is no doubt that he will have a great influence in the world of NBA.
