Engaged...?

Do you find it really annoying to ring someone up, get an engaged tone and 30 minutes later you find that they are STILL on the phone???

yes but don't most people have call waiting? Seriously the last time I called someone and it was engaged for that long was literally 20 years ago. tell your friend they need to get with the times and get call waiting!

Yes, this used to really annoy me. I have a friend who loves to chat on the phone - either one long conversation or making/recieving several calls in succession. It used to really bug me to phone her, especially if we had arranged I would phone. All I would get is that annoying lady wanting to leave a message. And, of course, each time this happened, it cost me money (fair enough, not that much for one call, but it adds up).

It doesn't bother me so much now that there are free evening/weekend calls packages, since it doesn't cost now. But it still bugs me a little. I usually give up trying.

of course. it always feels like youre waiting forever. my mum always seems to ring someone whos engaged, then puts the phone on loudspeaker and hits redial repeatedly. its very annoying.

You might just be unlucky. It could be two short phone calls and you just rang at the wrong time.

Man these people are trying to wind you up they know your going to ring so they lift the receiver.
