Question:

Engagement Party Ideas??

So we are debating whether to have a engagment party or not. We would like to, but dont much 'fuss'.

We have considered having it at our home - to much mess involved.

Considered having it my Dads house - also to much mess and my Dad might have a slight melt down.

Thought about renting a big tent and having it at a park - to expensive.

Looked at cocktail bars - to expensive plus might not cater for kiddies and grandparents tastes.

I would love to hear from other suggestions. We would like to do a little something, just not sure what!

Thanks.

  1. If your looking for party entertainment ideas then you could hire a rodeo bull, bucking bronco if you think its the type of enertainment your guests would like, the rodeo bull is also called a bucking bronco, bucks and spins as you hold on before you safely fall on to the inflatable bed. The rodeo bull is great party entertainment for adults and children over the age of ten (in UK), rodeo bull can also be used indoors and requires 15ft by 15ft for the inflatable bed, please feel free to browse our site for more party ideas.

  2. I came across the same problem as husband and myself were considering the same, to have or not to have. So after much deliberation  we decided on a party at home and to tell you the truth everyone feels more comfortable the kids can run around, Nana can nap on the couch after tea and you can party on till late without worrying about what time you have to finish up. We had caterers come in and had amazing cocktail food which to this day everyone keeps raving about, no mess they cleaned up everything and it was at a really reasonable price too. So maybe a summer cocktail party type of theme might be right for you. I'm in Melbourne and can recommend the caterers that i used as many people from our engagement have since used them and they also make sure the kids are well and truly looked after with all homemade kids finger food, as the kids don't really like the more adult food. Good luck planning hope everything goes well.

  3. have a bar b q in a local park, invite everyone to come and bring salads or desserts and own meat, you supply drinks and bread and plates and cutlery(can be plastic)

Presents: get everyone to write on their card what is their best household hint ie vinegar rinse in dishwasher.

have a pass the parcel with the final label: for the next person to find love, by popular vote.

    have a lovely day

  4. The fact that you were debating about having the party or not means your not worried about receiving gifts so why not have it at a lovely restaurant and have everyone pay their own way. You can get great discounts with group bookings. Anyone you care enough about to invite should be happy to pay for themselves.  Somewhere that caters for everyone - some places have free kids entertainment. A lovely meal and good company is a great night out. Its all about celebrating your happy news - not about getting into debt or worrying - you will have enough of that when you get married!! Just have fun - thats what its all about.

  5. a pimps n hos evening lol,or a quiet bbqs simple n low key.

  6. Have a party at a 'Dinner/Show place (no gifts, just a fun night out)!  Dad could pay for tickets.  ie Draculas, Gold Coast..etc.
