Engagement party or not?

My Fiance & I have been engaged almost 4 & half months.

We pretty much only made it official this week with me getting a proper engagement ring & telling my dad.

However, a lot of our family & friends were when we got engaged back in April.

We were thinking of having an engagement party in October, but we thinking maybe that will be pushing it cause we'll be engaged for 6 months.

Do you think we should have an engagement party anyway or maybe just go out to dinner with a few close friends?
