Question:

Engagement present ideas? I'd really appreciate help!?

I need to buy a present for a couple in their early 20s. They already live together, but until this year they've been college students, so I dont think they have a lot of homewares etc.

I'd really rather give them money so they can choose for themselves, or put it towards a house etc- can I do that and how should I go about it?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

  1. i went to an engagement party the other week. We gave them a photo frame. The general rule is spend 50 each (bride and groom) for the wedding - more if you are close. For the engagement 20 each and less if you have to travel to get there, deduct amount if no actual invitation.

Any way we got them a photo frame, unfortunately we weren't the only ones with that idea.

Maybe try scented candles and bubble bath, for the wedding night if they are christians, if not for that night.

Good luck. Being there should be a present in itself

  2. target giftcards are perfect for weddings!!

my fiance and I just got his sister one for her wedding and she was really happy with it. This way they can pick out what they want and you won't feel weird about giving them cash

    hope this helps!!

  3. Gift Vouchers are a great present for any large chain then they can pick what they want and know that a little bit of effort and thought went in to the gift

  4. wait until they set up a registry, other wise gift cards to Target are always a BEST BET!

  5. First, buy a card.  Then, place your specified amount of cash inside card and seal!

  6. Usually the best present would come from their registry. But if they haven't registered yet, maybe do a gift card for target or bed, bath and beyond. So they could get something that they are needing. Good luck.

  7. do you have any pics of them when the started dating? if you do you could goto www.walmart.com and upload a pic of the happy couple and have it put on a throw blanket for them to cuddle with in the cold or a clock for them to place in their new house.
