  1. Some engagement parties are themed. The couple could also have a gift registry and the host or hostess of the engagement party should be able to help with either of these questions. If you are attending the Engagement party and not the wedding you should still send a gift to the couple for the wedding.

  2. Engagement party usually is money, to help the bride and groom pay for the wedding, or if there parents are paying for the wedding then to help them get on their feet and buy a house and furnish it.

But it is really up to you, whatever you give them, I am sure they will love it (its the thought that counts)

  3. Engagement parties are meant to annouce the wedding and no gifts are necesary/expected. A card, flowers, a potted plant or a bottle of wine/champagne is appropriate, but not mandatory. It's just a party.

Wait for the shower to gift the couple, since you are not attending the wedding a shower gift will suffice.

    Good luck

  4. i wouldnt worry about buying a present for the engagment, if you was going to the wedding then yeah, but if you would like to buy something ,maybe a gift voucher for a big apartment store

  5. The engagement party is not a gift-giving occassion.

If you know you can't make the wedding, you can opt to ship them a gift for the wedding.

  6. Check to see if they have a registry. If not a gift card from a nice store would be good. If you are not attending the wedding one gift should do.
