  1. To be honest, those rings are gaudy and look like they only cost $50. I think you can find something lovelier and of better quality at a reputable jeweler like Littman's or Kay's or JBR.  You don't have to spend a lot, but you'll at least get gold and a quality diamond.  At Littman's you can get a 1/4 round cut solitaire diamond in a yellow gold setting for less than $300.  Paying $50 for an engagement ring, something you should plan to wear the rest of your life, isn't saving money, it's being a cheapskate (just in terms of quality and longevity of the ring - it's an investment - not in terms of what it means).  That site would be okay for a promise or pre-engagement ring, but go someplace that's a real jeweler for the engagement ring.  When you talk to them, just tell them that your budget is limited and you can't go above, say $300 right now.  They can help you choose something you love and which will last.  Most jewelers also have payment plans.

Consider also that just because you can't afford a $1000 doesn't mean you can't upgrade someday.  My mother had a 1/4 carat engagement ring for 30 years, and then for the 30th anniversary my dad got it reset into a three stone anniversary ring.  If you don't have the stone reset someday, you could always get a new anniversary band or upgrade to a larger stone when you can afford it, and keep your original engagement ring to pass down to a daughter or granddaughter someday.

  2. You better off trying one of the more reputable online jewelers like http://www.jamesallen.com or http://www.bluenile.com. They both have very good prices and quality rings.

  3. Yeah, its Sterling silver, that doesn't cost much, u may be able to go to your local mall and save even more, silver is cheap.

  4. i really wouldn't suggest it, because the cheaper you go, the lower the quality gets. i would say to go to a normal jewelry store and find something reasonable. congrats =D

  5. If you want poor quality that is going to turn your finger green, sure go right ahead.

  6. As long as you are aware that they are not real, then its perfect.  Congrats
