Engine modifications for a 1995 Yamaha Waveraider?

I bought a 95 Waveraider 1100 cc two weeks ago and was wondering if their were any modifications that I could add to the engine to make it run a little faster. Any modification suggestion big or small will be appreciated. Also, is there anything that I could do to make it more stable for when I have 2 people on it. With 2 people, it becomes tipsy.

  1. It depends on how much time and money you want to spend.  Also remember the rule of thumb "the more you put into performance the more you sacrifice reliability."

A few minor things you can do that will not sacrifice performance: change to a stainless prop, clean and tune the carbs, keep the bearings lubed, get a larger flame arrestor.  remove the choke and replace with a primer system.  Major changes you can do: replace stock exhaust with performance exhaust system, get larger carbs, change the head, rebuild the engine with high performance parts.

Stability was a problem with the Raiders.  The best bet is to tell your girlfirend to lose weight.  Then you'll be riding by yourself.

  2. Go to http://www.sbtontheweb.com/ and take a look.  Lots of things you can buy and do.

  3. i have a 98 sea doo and changing the plugs, checking/replacing the hoses and flushing the engine make a big difference, also regular oil changes. if you still want more change the impeller

also on some of those old used skis there might be a governor, that needs to come off and try premium gas

and as for the tipsy problem cut back on the booze no there should be a fin stabilizer from the internet
