1. no offense, but if you are asking this question you probably should not do it yourself. Go to a mechanic that specializes in conversions. Most mechanics just want to interchange old parts for new ones because a conversion can be costly and time consuming. OooOOo and finding those little parts is always fun. If you have the time find a form or mag. and learn what everyone else is doing because they have encountered the small technical problems

  2. What engine do u have now? 1996-2002 Chevy Cavalier Z24s had the 2.4L LD9 Twin Cam which made about 150hp stock. I think you should look for a Z24 Cavalier of this generation and swap out the engine. The parts should be interchangable and with a few bolt ons you'll be zooming through town. There were other cars that had this engine and you could find these for very low prices if the body is in bad shape. Check out the first website to see the other cars that had that engine.

As for price, I really can't give you an estimate. You should go around town and ask a few mechanics. But I really recommend this engine instead of the import ones since it won't be as much work and therefore probably cheaper.

  3. You can swap lots of engines if you have the correct components. Some may need to be custom made. That can get real expensive. Edlebrock used to make custom parts, maybe they still do?
