  3. An engineer is a person who academically studies and does the job which is already existing in theory and practice. On the other hand inventor is a person who may be an engineer or doctor or for that matter anything who stumbles upon some thing which is totally new in theory and practice. Some examples of inventions are plane, dynamo, self shaving razor etc.
