I am an ME junior and have a lot of transfer engineering courses from abroad. My school 'validates' foreign transfer credits on a case by case basis. What does this mean?? I have done exact courses over there, and would HATE to retake it.....

Do you guys think I have a chance in transferring them to my college (ranked 84th national)

  1. You could try this:

    https://oh.transfer.org/cas/

I know I had looked at this before, there are websites that will match the two schools and tell you. If I'm going to be honest i bet you will have to retake classes, it's almost inevitable. Schools just require different stuff. But things like thermo, fluids all the math and chem should all transfer.

  2. Validate on a case by case basis means its personal. They look at your particular qualifications and grades and compare them to the standards of the course you wish to have them transferred against. You may have only just passed a course abroad or you may have scored 100%. The college will have guidelines when validating foreign credit. So get your quals together with as much info as possible and present them to the college.

  3. Sure.  If the school you attended was a reputable school (accredited is the term over here), most, if not all of your coursework over there will transfer over here.  All they are saying is they don't allow "blanket" transfer of credits from any school, they want to take a look, is all.

  4. Don't ask us.........ask your college, 'cause they know the answer.
