  1. you can use plan water to fill the battery just make sure it's not Maintenance  free be careful not to get the acid on you when filling it up wear gloves.

  2. HI

They were most likely talking about the battery but the radiator can be filled with distilled water as well...

Distilled water has less minerals in it so it won't coroad as much as regular water..

As for the Sealed part ... some batteries well most now a days are sealed , which means that the spots where you put the water in is a little harder to get off.. and actually should not need water added.. .. Anyway if you do feel it needs water you can check it by pulling the caps off and looking in the battery .. the water level should be at the bottom of the whole .. about 1" from the top of the battery.

    good luck

    Tim

  3. IF the battery says MAINTENANCE FREE then you dont do anything to it.

If it does not say this  then there are two caps on the top of the battery. remove them and look to see if you can see water over the electrical lead plates. if not then add some water to cover them. then replace the caps.

  4. Distilled water can only be used to top up the coolant tank or the car

battery. DO NOT put it in the engine. Most cars these days have a

maintenance free battery which requires little or no attention so that

means you don`t have to bother looking at the fluid levels in the battery.

The coolant level on any car should be checked at least once a week.

Do this when the engine is cold and the car is sitting on a level

surface. Also check your oil level at the same time.

  5. you don't have to use distilled water in your battery, tap water now days doesn't have enough minerals in it to cause a problem.

  6. battery my friend,

  7. Your Clio has a sealed, or maintenance free, battery, so the question doesn't matter. You can top up the expansion tank for the engine coolant with tap water if needed up to the 'MAX' line when cold - consult your owner's handbook, or buy a Haynes manual for your car.

  8. you can top up your battery with distilled water but most these days are maintenance free

the only water you put in the engine is the washer bottle

  9. If the battery has caps on top which give access to the cells inside the battery, you need to keep it filled with distilled water. Distilled water has had all the small particles and impurities removed which allows the water to evaporate during normal use without leaving behind particulate matter which could negatively affect the battery and shorten it's life.

If your battery is the sealed type, maintenance free, there will not be removable caps or any way to access the cells. Maintenance free means just that, you don't have to fill it with water to maintain it. Just keep the posts and cables clean and your set. When the battery runs down, you simply replace it.

Same goes for the engine regarding using distilled water in the radiator (if that's what you're asking). Using regular tap water works, but as it evaporates over time, it leaves behind deposits and can clog up the radiator, maybe harm the thermostat, etc... Using distilled water is just insurance against those problems.

  10. boil some water then it becomes distilled..then open your battery (if you can..or if its sealed type then u cant..means get a new battery) then top it up with water. be sure to disconnect first. positive first of last on.

you cant put water in engine.only a recommended engine oil goes in there! if you put water in engine you will mess it up.

  11. Distilled water is for batteries. Only try and top it up if it has s***w caps on top of it. If your not sure ask a friend with a bit of knowledge.
