I have been told that a motor home or campervan is classed in law as a 'caravan' in UK law,

The motorhome is parked about 25 yards from a side road junctions however clear view are available up and down footpath.

  1. Hmm yeah I would check. It might be classed as an HGV or something.

  2. You will need to check with your city because here in the states you need permission and if not the fines are very heavy, good luck.

  3. Yes.  "Parked" means that it is not moving, so you will be going less than 20mph.

  4. Some houses (rental and sale) have a restrictive covenant on them which prevents such things being done.  My Grandparents area has a R.C. which prevents any vehicle used for business or leisure so no taxis or caravans permitted.

  5. You will probably have to have parking lights during the hours of darkness and don't be surprised if your neighbour's start complaining.

  6. i would just doublecheck with local authorities so i wouldn't get fined or something!

  7. Anything over 3.5 Tonne must display a full set of parking lights during the hours of darkness, that is two white to the front, two red to the rear and any side marker lamps required by that size of vehicle.

  8. Motorhome, is classed as a large vehicle, assuming theres no double yellows or reserved bays etc.. that your blocking and your more than 15 yards from a junction it should be fine. If you could find somewhere offroad to park it I imagine that would be better... is it a busy road your parking on? if its not and its a straight road with plenty of visibility you will be ok. I would still check with the authorities though just because of the size of the vehicle.
