The England & Wales Cricket Board has announced that pressure from the government has caused the cancelling of their tour of Zimbabwe. They were to play 3 ODIs & 2 tests. They are now seeking an alternative series. What are your thoughts on this?

  1. it will not do any good for Zimbabwe young cricket team~

they shouldn't  have canceled  this tour for the sake of spreading the cricket all over the world.......

  2. good tbh

  3. well done waste of money , time and serves no purpose

  4. About time!

But what happened to politics and sport not mixing?

England should have cut off sporting ties with Zimbabwe long ago. They should not have needed a lead from the government to do so.

They should have nothing to do with Mugabe's despotic regime.

But what will be the alternative series. Not another New Zealand tour!!!

  5. Well supposedly the chances of England hosting the T20 World Cup next year were under threat if we cancelled the tour, thats what i read anyway.

I dont know much about the whole Mugabe situation going on over there, but i do trust the ECB's decision to cancel the series.

Well we need another team to play because we do need some warm-ups before the Ashes. Bangladesh is the probable option although we do play them recently after The Ashes!! Maybe they could extend the Ashes to a 6 match series again?? (although we would have no warm-up test matches in the summer). Maybe NZ will come over again!! i dont know!

  6. Zimbabwe is a great country ruled by an IDIOT. No westerner will be safe in that country until mad Bob is removed.

Rather stay home, and invite the Zimbo's over to the UK a game and a braai. (BBQ for any Aussies)

  7. I feel sad for  the political intrusion in sports.

  8. Well good on them..There is too much political unrest going on at the moment..

I actually read comments from Andy Flower the other day saying the ICC need to kick Zimbabwe out..

I feel sorry for all players of the Zimbabwean team though..

Well at least the Aussies aren't the only ones to pull out of a tour this year hey mate...

  9. listen mate, they are not cancelling the tour due to politics, rather cos the whites in zim are being affected, thats why!

there are no whites in the team.

  10. At Least England Have Done Something Good. They Should Have Suspended Them Long Way Back. Now Australia And India Should Also Do Same Thing. Mugabe Have Destroyed Zimbabwe And Should Be Ousted Immediately.

  11. bout time they sent in the SAS

but idont think that will happen some how

but feel sorry for there cricket team what do they do now

    .

  12. I think its a good "decision", once I used to support Zimbabwe & they were my fav. team 4 years back but all those players have left. Its all fault of their corrupt board & govenment. & I hope every team abandon playing with them now, they're already gone down as much they could so it won't really matter now for their cricket bcz the humanity isn't valued there, forget sports.

  13. Robert Mugabe should not be allowed to run Zimbabwe. Shame on the African leaders that they have allowed such a person to hold office. He has hijacked his country into oblivion and the people are held captives.

Sad that a country that produced great players like Grant Flower, Andrew Flower, Heath Streak, Alistair Campbell, Guy Whittall, Paul Strang, David Houghton, Stuart Carlisle, Brian Strang, Tatendu Taibu etc. can not be represented any more in cricket.

We can't have situations of human right violations and keep on playing as though nothing has happened. UN should act now and remove this shameful person from office.
