England Coach Andy Flower gets his contract renewed - Cricket news
The English coach Andy Flower has finally gotten his contract with the England team renewed after some reports suggested that he was considering leaving the English side.
Flower expressed his satisfaction over the new contract and hoped to carry on the good work that has been put in to improve the performance of England in the world of cricket. Speaking on the occasion he said, “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity
to build on the considerable progress we have made to date as a squad and remain fully committed to developing the side and ensuring we are in a position to realise our objective of becoming the number one side in the world."
The announcement of this news has put an end to the rumours that India was bidding to get a hold of the expertise of the former Zimbabwean wicketkeeper after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gary-Kirsten-c58527 chose not to renew his coaching contract with the Men in Blue.  The Board of Control
for Cricket in India (BCCI) believed that Andy could have been the right choice to replace Kirsten, who led his side to their second World Cup title this year, which was jointly hosted by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747.
England team’s managing director, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hugh-Morris-c63550, while praising the extension in Flower’s contract said, “Andy's outstanding leadership, commitment, and his open and honest approach have been key factors in the success the England squad has enjoyed over the
last two years and I have no doubt that under his direction we will continue to see England improve as we strive to become the No. 1 side in the world in all formats of the game.”
Ever since Flower was appointed the director of the English side in 2009, the team has shown great improvement. They first regained the Ashes in 2009, then went on to win the Twenty20 championship in 2010 and then retained the Ashes in 2010 by defeating
the Kangaroos in Australia.
Under the directions of Flower, the side has jumped from sixth place to third in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings.
It is believed that Flower was not happy with the hectic scheduling of the English team. The squad was on a five-month tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 playing five Test matches and then a One-Day series. The team had only a few days to rest before embarking on their World
Cup quest.
During the tournament most English players broke down due to injuries which were blamed on the extended work load that the cricketers had to endure. It is expected that Flower will be talking with the ECB about decreasing the work load on the national team
in the coming days.
