On Tuesday after BCCI, it was ECB’s turn to honour their star performer of the year, Jonathan Trott. The England Cricket Board (ECB) adjudged the 30-year-old as Cricketer of the Year on the basis of his impressive performance in the previous year and the ongoing year.
Together with ECB, the British media has also collaborated in choosing the top English batsman of the year.
Trott is a right-handed one down batsman that has represented the English side in 19 test-matches and 25 One Day Internationals during his http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Short-c90107, yet, promising career he has 6 Test and 3 ODI hundreds to his name.
In the past 12 months, Trott’s test average has climbed up to a commendable figure of 66.77. His current ODI average of 55.65 also reflects his impressive ODI batting.

It was a historical win for the English side as success kissed their boots on Australian soil after 24 years.

The jury that awarded Trott with this honour evaluated his performance from the start of international summer, in May, to the end of the ICC World Cup 2011.

On this occasion Trott expressed his happiness and said, "I am both extremely humbled and proud to have been named England cricketer of the year after what has clearly been the most enjoyable year of my cricketing career so far”.
