Question:

England Hotels: Do I have to pay for each person?

I am traveling to England in the beginning of October. I am looking to stay in Hostels, Hotels and Inns. I am wondering if it is a standard in England that you have to pay per person for the room? (There are only 2 people on this trip!)

I am from the USA, where you generally just pay for your room (and an extra charge if there are more than 2 people)

Please let me know any details you can offer. I am quite overwhelmed by all the places out there and don't even know where to begin to start!

  1. off topic: i have been following your threads and you sound really lost.

please post what days you want to be where. we'll make an itinerary for you. also don't do a hub, do a loop. why pay for a room in london, when all you need is an anchor point at heathrow?

edited to add: waterloo station is for travel to points south. you are going north and west

  2. No, you pay for room. The cheapes is single, then double, and so on.

    :D

  3. depends on the hotel ... traditionally in the UK we paid per person, but this is breaking down and more and more places are now starting to charge per room like you do in the USA ... so you'll just have to read the tariff carefully and check which it is

  4. Its normaly per room, obviously if there are 2 people and you want a double room (with a double bed or 2 singles) then it will cost a little more.

  5. Usually you pay for the room not per person.
