  2. Completely depends!  I mean a young woman?  A married woman?  Are we talking a grand dame in society or a lower rank?  A governess?  A mistress?  Just like our current clothing the price would vary completely depending on how cutting edge fashion it is and how respected the modiste was.

    Most importantly though--the woman probably would not know.  A gentleman would never say and a lady would never ask.
