  1. I do agree that with Cook captaining England in Bangladesh and Collingwood as the World Twenty20 skipper, it's been a while since Strauss has been at the helm. However, I do think Strauss will be captaining England to the Ashes later this year and beyond.

  2. Brian
Nasser admitted that he felt uncomfortable when Michael Vaughan returned to the England dressing room as a player after taking over the ODI captaincy. Within three months Nass quit as test captain too

If I were Strauss I'd be feeling a bit weakened after choosing not to play for England for half a year

  3. In what way? Strauss captained England to the Ashes last year, so his Test captaincy credentials are clear. With the way the game is moving, there is an ever widening gap between Test and Twenty20 cricket, and the days where the same player captains across all formats may be numbered.

Collingwood also has no desire to captain at ODI or Test level, so I can't see any of what happened in the Caribbean undermining Strauss.
