  1. engalnd

  2. SA in SA or in UK are a far better team than the current

England side. England at home - they play decent and they

play as a team when they are home, but struggle when they

are away. England batting lacks depth - even though they

have Vaughn, Pieterson, Collingwood, Cook and others. They

need services of Flintoff and all batsman need to perform.

They do not have a genuine quality spinner and I think they

need to look at Saqlain as well. He is dual-citizen and now

allowed to play for England. Further more he is handful even

on flat pitches compared with Panesar.

  3. Statistically speaking, SA would be at this time, given their place in the ICC rankings. But who cares? I like them both & hope for the best on both counts!

  4. hmmm england are i reackon south africa are good but i just think england are better at this present in time gonna be a cracking series

  5. On paper the teams look like they should be pretty well matched (with South Africa slightly edging ahead) However England of recent years never fail to surprise me with their shocking performances and batting collapses. I am hoping for it to be a closely fought series though.

But lets not get too far ahead of ourselves just yet, we still have New Zealand to beat first who are a considerably weaker team than South Africa. After this series we should have a clearer indication as to how we will cope against South Africa.  :)

  6. South Africa, in my opinion they are the one team that could knock australia off the top step of both the ODI and Test cricket ladder, the batting is a good mix of experience, stablity, potential consistency and a dash of explosiveness, in short they can handle any bowling line up and destroy them. there bowling line up is well balanced with good pace, swing and line and length bowlers, the only thing that holds them back is that they havent developed a front line spinner yet

england on the other hand are a side thats still developing, and i dont think can be world beaters for probably at least 18 months

  7. south africa are playing very good cricket at the moment and england are doing okay i think the fact that their batsmen all average over 40 is a bit flattering because they make big runs whenever they play weaker teams south african batsmen have been performing against quality attacks and they have a wall in Jacques Kallis and the south african bowling is top notch english bowling looks okay but they have inconsistent bowlers like anderson and sidebottom hasnt been tested against a good batting lineup yet i just think right now south africa are the better team

  8. South Africa

  9. england is a better team than south africa because they have good bowling options and batting also.south africa also is a good team but england is better

  10. SOUTH AFRICA is better

  11. South Africa have a better all round team but England are getting there.

Hopefully it will be a tough series between England and South Africa

  12. I think that the question refers to Test Match Cricket.

Obviously South Africa are the better side than England. The biggest problem for England is the poor form of Captain Vaughan. Captain has to lead the team from the front and Vaughan has not done enough in this regard whereas Graeme Smith had many good performances in the recent past.

England's bowling is not coming good but for a solitary patch by Ryan Sidebottom. They continue to be denied the services of their current greatest player i.e. Flintoff.

I would put South Africa at 100 and England at 90. South Africa is better than England in Batting, Bowling and Fielding.

  13. Well its no doubt south africa in every form of the game as they have better batting as well better bowling line-up so they are better.

  14. Both can at times rely on certain individuals to perform, although SA I think has the better all-round team.

Should be a great series later this summer!

  15. South Africa by 100 miles.

Steyn is 20% better than any English bowler.

Kallis is far better than any English batsmen

Boucher is better than Ambrose - Runs on the board.

    Smith is the better opener.

Sidebottom may have taken a few against a pathetic, feeble

New Zealand batting line up but he won't do it to the Proteas.

Australia are still the best by far.

  16. SA

  17. It pains me to say it, but South Africa are the stronger at the moment.

If you compare teams, the strange thing is, that England's team looks stronger than South Africa's.

Openers- Strauss & Cook vs Smith & Mckenzie- Smith and McKenzie are the stronger, Smith when in form is one of the best in the world, whilst McKenzie has had an excellent start to his South African career. Currently Cook and Strauss are not producing the runs they are capable of.

Middle Order- Vaughan, Pietersen, Bell, Collingwood vs Amla, Kallis, Prince, De Villiers.- England's middle order is much stronger, if South Africa didnt have Kallis then there batting line-up would be average. England's middle order is full of players averaging near to 45.

Keepers- Boucher vs Ambrose- Hard to tell really, Boucher in recent times has gone through a ressuragence in his career. Whilst Ambrose has had a superb start to his test career.

Spinner- Panesar vs Harris- Easy one, Monty Panesar has got the very best players out, Harris when pressured looks very average.

Pacemen- Flintoff, Broad, Sidebottom vs Steyn, Ntini and Morkel- Very even again, but i would say England shade it!. Sidebottom unlike Steyn is very consistent, he never has a bad test match, Broad and Morkel have both had good starts to there careers, and both could be the future of there teams. Flintoff at his best is better than Ntini.

BUT still even though England's side on paper looks stronger, the game isnt played on paper!!. South Africa are playing good consistent cricket, they are batting as a unit and each bowler is bowling to there strengths!.
