On the opening day of third Ashes test, England bowled out Australia for an average 268 at WACA ground today. England after winning the toss, offered their hosts
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 to bat first on the greenish pitch. England took a great hold on the Ashes in beginning of the match by the dint of their exceptional bowling and reduced their opponents to 69-5 just after lunch.
England dominated by their swing bowlers, James Anderson and Chris Tremlett who snared three wickets each and made the situation worse for Australia. However,
half centuries from Mike Hussey, Brad Haddin and Michell Jhonson enabled their team to end innings with reasonable total before being bowled out 30 minutes before stumps. Senior player, Mike Hussey again built up a defense with 61, before Brad Haddin (53no),
Mitchell Johnson (62) and Peter Siddle (35 not out). Hussey reached the milestone for the fourth successive time in as many attempts in this Ashes series, as Australia tried to recover from another nightmare start.
Recalled opener Phil Hughes (2), embattled skipper Ricky Ponting (12), struggling deputy Michael http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 (4) and new No.6 Steven Smith (7), Ben Hilfenhaus (13),
Ryan Harris (3), were among the casualties as Australia's top order produced its second first innings collapse in as many Tests.
On the other hand tourists, England safely reserved 29-0 at stumps, with Alastair Cook on 17 and Andrew Strauss on 12, to put them in leading position on the
back of their earlier, excellent bowling and brilliant fielding.
Up till now, England has led the Ashes to push for a victory and now the tourists will continue securing a successful Ashes defence, with Australia's bowlers
having struggled for wickets over the first two tests. England escorted the second test in Adelaide by an innings and 71 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the five-test series.
England’s recalled paceman Chris Tremlett, made a stunning impact when he clean bowled Hughes in the last ball of the first over, after that Michael Clarke caught
behind by wicket keeper Mat Prior, also added a wicket for Tremlett, who bowled well to claim 3-63 in 23 overs.
A striking one-handed catch at third slip by Paul Collingwood from the bowling of James Anderson (3-61) added in the misery of Australian captain Ponting, sending
him back to pavilion.
Tremlett increased the Australia’s worries when he sent back the Steven Smith in the second over after lunch.
In today’s innings Haddin and Hussey, who also batted Australia out of trouble in the first test, came back in test arena with effective counter-attack. Hussey
hit a six and nine fours as he continued with his commanding form with the bat and was given out caught behind on a referral in spinner Graeme Swann's second over, after umpire Billy Doctrove had initially turned down the appeal. With other scoring list of
195, 93 and 52, he has been Australia's outstanding batsman of the series.
Haddin, another batsman in form, added 53 runs for seventh wicket with Johnson before another brilliant slip catch ended Haddin's two-hour knock.
Earlier, opener Shane http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326, who batted for over an hour for his 13 runs off 40 balls, as Australia slumped to 36-4, was trapped through an lbw by Steve Finn
after failing to have decision overruled by video review. He had an earlier acquittal when he was given out caught down the leg-side off Anderson, but the on-field decision was overruled by third umpire Aleem Dar.
