Question:

England Vs. New Zealand?

I favour New Zealand because i love their players..individually the New Zealand team is extremely talented...but they fail as a team. But New Zealand Stats don't seem to favour them.

In the last two years New Zealand have reached 200 in an away Test only twice. Since November 2004 they have scored 200 only five times in away Tests, and that includes twice in Zimbabwe.

What's your call?

  1. England will win and win comfortably even without Flintoff.

There batting line-up is completely superior.

In the England side the top 6 all average over 40 in test cricket, in the NZ side NO players average over 40 in test cricket.

England's bowling is a class above too, Sidebottom at the moment is the best swing bowler in the world, then there's Broad who's full of confidence and talent. and then hopefully Hoggard will come back into the side too.

England will win the test series 3-0 (weather permitting), England's side finally looks like it's coming together!! just in time for a big 2 years ahead.

  3. England will win but even though I'm an England supporter I hope New Zealand can make us earn the wins.  If our batsmen play badly again I think it would be a good thing if we lost a couple of matches as I think it will make the England selectors look at cutting some of the deadwood out of the team (Strauss).  We've go rid of one under-performer in Harmison let's get rid of the rest.

2-1 to England would be a good result to me.

Looking forward to the Sunday at Old Trafford when I 'm there.  Hope the weather's good.

  4. I like both teams & wish them both all the best for a good series.

  5. england will win

  6. England

  7. I know what you mean and this is why i'm backing england.

One problem I can see with New Zealand is that although they have some good players they do not have the player base like australia or england or india etc. Mainly because rugby is the number 1 sport over in NZ and with a small population the NZ team does find it hard

But in the end NZ is playing england and anything can happen when you play england. They seem to have a knack of either just winning or being flogged (and i say this as an english fan)

  8. England ...

  9. I think England will win.

Even though New Zealand team is good, they don't have star players. They normally win because of their teamwork.

    England looks better these days.

  10. kiwis shall dominate!

  11. I'm not sure the issue of only reaching 200 in away tests over the last two years is as big a deal as people make out.  I mean, NZ has played very few tests and the last away series was against South Africa.

I disagree entirely with the idea that they fail as a team.  I think NZ lacks a decent player base and punch well above their weight considering their resources.  They have some stars and good prospects, but in terms of batting who is really established?  England boast several established batsman averaging over 40, NZ had Flemming, now no one.

NZ is a very good one day team and probably the most exciting to watch, but in terms of tests there is a lack of consistent batting depth and there has been for some time.  If Jamie How bats well, and sets a platform, the likes of oram, McCullum, vettori etc, could put england under a lot of pressure, because the bowling unit is not too bad.  I only rate Sidebottom for England (as Flintoff is injured) and think the NZ seam attack is capable of getting 20 wickets.

I still think england are favorites.  I think 2-1 to england, NZ to step up and win the first test at Lords and lose the next two.

  12. I like both teams, so I just hope it's a good even series.

  13. England obviously...

  14. i ain't the biggest cricket fan what you come out with just goes straight through me,

i know they got Flintoff playing and i know that he ain't everyone picks but i sure think he makes the difference

Also it's the last day of the footy season (Sunday) today so a lot of tension for who's staying up and who's gonna leave the premiership this year.
