India Women 114 (20/20 ov) - India Women won the toss and chose to bat
In the second and final T20I match between touring team of Indian and hosts England, the Indian women team after winning the toss, chose to bat first and piled a total of 114 runs in their 20 overs, in the match being played at County Ground, Chelmsford.
After having lost the first clash, this is India’s final chance to level the series, for which they needed to get off to an impressive start in order to post a total good enough to defend.
However, England made early inroads by grabbing their first wicket with nothing on the board as Indian opener, A Sharma, was caught behind by wicketkeeper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915 off the bowling of KH Brunt after facing six deliveries.
On the loss of an early wicket, India were put under pressure and needed to bat their way back to dominance.
PG Raut and skipper M Raj initiated a rebuild phase, as they tentatively countered the English bowlers.
Nonetheless, on the penultimate delivery of the seventh over, England struck again by nabbing the wicket of Raj, who perished after clobbering an innings of 21 runs off 18 deliveries. Her innings included three boundaries.
Then just one over later, Raut followed her skipper back to the pavilion, as she was run out after scoring 16 runs off 18 deliveries.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hugh-Morris-c63550 Kaur and MR Meshram then launched another rebuild phase as they needed all the luck in the world on their side to overcome the English bowlers, who were bolting in sensational deliveries right at the batswomen.
However, just when it seemed India were coming back in the match, England managed to dismiss Meshram at a time when the side had amassed a tally of 89 runs on the board. The batswoman walked off the field after scoring an innings of 17 runs.
This consequently trigged a batting collapse in the Indian batting line-up, as England kept grabbing wickets, denying the remaining batswomen from scoring in double figures.
India then managed to forge only 114 runs, with Kaur as the highest score with an innings of 34 runs to her name.
England now have a meagre tally to chase, and should have little resistance unless India pull of a resounding bowling performance.
