England Women’s Cricket team beats Sri Lanka 3-0 at woman’s Twenty20 in Colombo
Finishing off their tour in Sri Lanka on Monday, the second Women’s Twenty20 international got off to a good start for England, with the tourists beating their Sri Lankan hosts by 17 runs in the second match and 89 in the third.
England’s captain, Jenny Gunn was the highlight of the final match with three sixes and four fours, giving England a full 160-5. Gunn was caught in the boundary only after making an amazing play where she hit 13 from 10 balls.
"I really enjoyed the second match. I've felt really good all tour and it was great just to go out in the middle and enjoy myself," Gunn told reporters.
Daniel Hazel also made an impressive debut taking 3-14. Sri Lanka finished at 70 while Gunn made three catches giving England the win.
While the first match was reasonably close, the Sri Lankan team lost their opener Chamari Polgampola from the very first ball. Inoka Galagedera and Chamari Atapattu played well together, but they were separated when Atapattu was dismissed.

from that point on.

Gunn told BBC sport that she had never expected to have the chance to represent her country internationally, and feels honoured to be the team's captain, "It was another great experience and makes me appreciate what a fantastic job Charlotte does.”
Although Edwards complained of bad weather on Sunday she called the tour a good experience overall. She is expected to lead the England team in another Twenty20 tour in Australia next January.
Reflecting in the season, she said the tour had been a productive one and the players managed themselves well under the circumstances, "We brought a few young players on this tour and I am really pleased that they have taken their opportunities."
