Why do they have letters in them. Like these for instance M9 8AH and M2 5GP I know the M stands for Manchester, but what about the other letters, and numbers?

  1. the number after the M stands for the area the other letters are the roads

  2. Great Britain hasn't got zip codes but post codes.

Zip codes are only called this way in the USA and probably Canada.

And those letters and numbers? Well, countries have different ways how to sort their post stuff. That's why. Different suburbs or roads?

  3. My post code is CF15 *** It just means Cardiff City area and the 15th district withen the city (mine is Cardiff North rural District) and then the other 3 numbers is just identyfing your house. Its the same in Europe
