England batsman Tim Bresnan fined after match against India - ICC World Cup 2011 update
The English batsman, Tim Bresnan, has been warned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for breaching its Code of Conduct during the ICC World Cup match against India, on 27th February 2011, at the M.Chinnaswamy stadium of Bangalore.All-rounder

The match referee, Roshan Mahanama, charged Bresnan as soon as he noticed him hitting the stumps. He said, “I took into account that Bresnan admitted his mistake, apologised for his action and that it was his first offence.” After being confronted, Bresnan
apologised to the umpire and told them that he did not do it deliberately. It was all unintentional, for which he is embarrassed.
The umpire further added that there is no exemption to the breaching of such offenses because the players are role-models for millions of people. They should play cricket with true spirit and devotion. He said that penalty for such violations can range from
a warning to a fine of up to 50 per cent of a player match payroll.
