England boosted after return of deadly trio
Martin Johnson, the England’s manager has been relieved after the news of his forward trio returning to the squad. It is a major boost for England prior to RBS Six Nation most crucial fixture against France. The three vital and skilled forwards are all set
to return after recovering from their injury.
Sale Sharks prop and England’s forward Andrew Sheridan, who missed out on the last 59-13 victory over Ireland due to back injury has recovered now. He felt the pain while playing at Twickenham for Sale Sharks against Harlequins prior to Ireland’s fixture.
Tom Croft the experienced England’s flanker, who is supposed to also play for Leicester Tigers in the upcoming match against London Wasps at Welford Road, had been sidelined previously due to a serious injury. He suffered through a shoulder injury in November
during a collision. Now the flanker is reported to have recovered and all set for coming back to serve his national team.
On the other hand, the backbone player and the most feared attacking forward Lewis Moody, returns to his team to lead them again. The England’s skipper is currently is sitting on bath’s bench for their upcoming clash against Northampton Saints in Aviva Premiership.
He came back after a break of 5 weeks; he suffered through a knee ligament injury.
The dominant trio is the one that has been going in the British and Irish Lions too and is the first choice of Martin Johnson for the ‘Le Crunch’. Victory over France would mean England just have to win two more matches to claim the Grand Slam title. It
has been eight years since England won a Grand Slam title in Six Nations.
Johnson will be having difficulty in deciding the captain, as Tindall has already been appointed and Moody is back. Mike Tindall has led England through the tremendous victories against Wales and Italy. Martin Johnson has options but it is a crucial decision
at such a sensitive moment.
On the other hand Moody is not only looking forward to prove his fitness, but also guide Bath while they clash against Northampton. Bath has been giving winning performances so far and will need Moody’s full assistance in order to retain the winning streak.
Bath is just five points away from title and next match will decide their fate with the title.
Meanwhile, Northampton has faced major defeats in its past few matches and the last time they won a Premiership match, it was on 26th November 2010.
Steve Meehan looks positive about his side. The Bath’s coach said, “We were let down with our performance previously in the season at Franklin's Gardens, so we have been looking forward to this clash. They have been playing in good health for the last couple
of seasons, so they cannot be underrated.”
He accepted that match is not going to be easy. Meanwhile, the coach also welcomed Moody to his side after recovery and considered it to be a good sign for the club.
