Matt Prior, the England wicketkeeper, is confident his side could go unbeaten all through the tour of Australia this summer saying that it is the run England was desperate to continue.
Prior, who struggled with the bat in the first two Test matches against Australia, struck a fine unbeaten century to help the tourists manage a draw against Victoria on Sunday.
"If we carry on playing the brand of cricket we have been there's no reason why we can't go through the tour unbeaten," said the English wicketkeeper while talking to the media reporters. "If we can manage to do that, it would be a fantastic
feat - but something we're certainly targeting."
Since arriving Down Under at the end of October, England has won three matches drawing an equal number of matches and is leading the ongoing five-match Ashes series by 1-0. The three victories include comprehensive Adelaide win as well where
the tourists had crushed Ponting’s men by an innings and 71 runs. England, in its last Ashes tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in 2006-07 faced a humiliating 5-0 whitewash so winning or not losing a game at every venue is the key philosophy of Strauss’s men this time.
"Winning is a habit and one you want to protect," he added. "If we'd lost, we'd be very, very disappointed people."
Another key point of the 2010-11 touring party has been stability in the squad but the abdominal strain of Stuart Broad has stripped of their chance of playing the same team for the Perth Test. The three pacers - http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ajmal-Shahzad-c42489, Tim Bresnan
and Chris Tremlett - competing for a call up in the third Ashes Test failed to impress in the three-day tour game against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Victoria-c859 taking only one wicket between them. But Prior shielded the trio saying that the wicket was quite difficult and pacers beautifully
restricted the opposition line up from scoring runs.
Chris Tremlett is anticipated to be the favourite replacement of Broad on the quick WACA wicket but Prior said that whoever gets his name included will do a great job for the side.
