England coach Fabio Capello believes the Champions League semi-finals could go either way
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello, has refused to pick a winner for the semi-final tie between Manchester United and Schalke. The Italian believes that the encounter will be too close to call.
Manchester United are certainly the favourites to go through to the final of the tournament. The Red Devils have stepped up their game in recent weeks as they look completely unstoppable at the moment. United are currently on track to win the treble of the FA Cup, Premier League and the Champions League title. They breezed past http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in the quarter-finals to book their place in the last four of the competition.
Schalke are the surprise package of this season’s tournament. The German side has been struggling in the Bundesliga, but amazingly they thrashed Champions League holders http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan 7-3 on aggregate to set up a semi-final encounter against Manchester United. Schalke have already proved that they are no pushovers, and United manager Sir Alex Ferguson will not be taking the encounter lightly.
The Three Lions coach Fabio Capello believes that the semi-finals between the two clubs can go either way. Speaking on the upcoming encounter, the Italian said:
“The Germans are dangerous at this moment because they are fresh. After their winter break, they are running like teams normally do in November and December. But the spirit that Manchester United have is a winning spirit, they are a very strong team, their fans give them a lot of support, when they have difficulties they back them very very well.”
He added, "They have players capable of creating chances at any moment and scoring goals. They are also very dangerous at set-pieces."
However, Capello reserved special praise for Schalke striker Raul, who has already become a legend in the Champions League. The England coach believes that Raul could just prove to be the difference between the two sides in the semi-final of the Champions League.
He said, “He's (http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Raul-c30652) very good and if you aren't focused on him he can score at any time. His movement is always dangerous."
The semi-finals of the Champions League begin in the first week of May.
