There were speculations that that the venue will not be prepared in time ahead of the mega event. However, the organisers in Kolkata claimed that the rumours were not true and all matches would be played as per the schedule.

decision of shifting the match on Thursday.
The English all-rounder, Stuart Broad stated that the match shift from Eden Gardens was a disappointment for him and the entire England team. He said that it will be a shame that his team will not be able to feature in a stadium that can host more than 100,000
fans.
Another England’s player, Chris Tremlett expressed his disappointment over the news of the match shift. He said that the shift will not affect his team’s preparations largely but he felt bad for the fans who will miss out an opportunity to witness the match
at Eden Gardens.
He further added that many Indian and English fans would have turned up at the event to support both teams.

Tremlett was not part of England’s 15-member World Cup squad but with the injury concerns to Tim Bresnan, the tall fast-bowler has a chance to make it to the mega-event.
