England’s all-rounder, Tim Bresnan, expressed that the English team will miss the services of their Twenty20 captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SCJ-Broad-c2465, when they host the Windies for the two Twenty20 matches to be played at Kennington Oval, on September
23 and 25 respectively.
However, according to Bresnan, England have to ‘Keep calm and carry on’, not letting Broad’s absence affect their performance too much. The all-rounder hoped that the English team maintains the form they are in against the Caribbean
side.
Lamenting the loss of Broad, who has been sidelined due to a shoulder injury, Bresnan said, “We're going to need a new captain, whoever that may be. It will be disruptive. But in the England side at the minute, we have a marvellous
knack of the 'Keep calm and carry on' mentality - not let it affect us too much - so we hope we can still churn out the same results.”
Bresnan, who himself missed the earlier half of England's emphatic summer due to an injury, has a lot of praise for his Twenty20 skipper. The all-rounder tagged Broad as England’s lucky charm, a game changer and said that it must
be very frustrating to get injured at this point of time, as he was in magnificent form.
Currently, the English team is left stranded as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AN-Cook-c1026, and off-spinner Graeme
Swann are the most likely candidates for the post.
Despite not being in the limelight for the role, Bresnan asserts that if a chance comes his way he will grab it without hesitating even for a moment. The all-rounder reckons that he has the potential and experience to lead the
side.
“It would be a massive honour to lead England out wherever it was, in whatever format of the game. I wouldn't turn it down. I'd love to do it. I feel as though I'm experienced enough to know what's going on, what fields to set
- so yes, I'd take it on, Definitely," said the 26-year-old all-rounder.
Bresnan is amongst the three new players who have been awarded a 12-month central contract by England Cricket Board (ECB). The other two players include, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Morgan-c77707 and Chris Tremlett.
