England inducts four Huddersfield Giants players into squad - Rugby League
Four Huddersfield Giants players, namely Eorl Crabtree, Leroy Cudjoe, Danny Brough and Luke Robinson, have been taken onboard by England’s train-on squad in the wake of their club’s elimination from the Engage Super League play-offs.
Crabtree, Cudjoe and Robinson were already part of last year’s uptake for the Four Nations Series and this year they will be joined in by the latest addition of Danny Borough. Borough sat out of the selection for Exiles to the mid of the current season because
of head injury.
Apart from these recent recruits, four other inductions including Dale Ferguson, Michael Lawrence, Jermaine McGillvary and Larne Patrick have been taken onboard for the England Knights’ outfit, which will be seen preparing for clashes against France and
Samoa.
The list of the recent recruit does not end there. Gareth Widdop of Melbourne Storm has also been called up. The player has been inducted after his franchise failed to reach the National Rugby League (NRL) Grand Final showdown. The player’s joining is due
with Knights during the next week.
During his stint at Storm, which took off in 2010, the player has amassed a total of 33 points for the club, along with 3 Tries. In parallel, the utility back has contributed 22 points with 2 Tries for the English squad.
Steve McNamara, England’s is preparing himself hard for the Gillette Four Nations tournament, which is to start by next month.
The full train-on squad of England also includes; Tom Briscoe and Kirk Yeaman from Hull FC, Gareth Ellis and Chris Heighington of Wests Tigers, Jack Reed from Brisbane Broncos and Kris Welham from Hull Kingston Rovers.
With the fast approaching Gillette Four Nations, there is a lot more hiring expected. There is speculation that players from Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves, St. Helens and Leeds Rhinos will be asked to join.
The complete hiring of the Gillette’s English squad will be done before October 10, as McNamara is to name the 24-man squad by the mentioned date.
The Four Nations campaign is all set to start from October 29, in the clash against Wales at Leigh Sports Village.
