Since arriving at Ligue1 side LOSC Lille, England international Joe Cole has seen a revival in his fortunes. Playing alongside the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Moussa-Sow-c26939, the midfielder has become an integral part of the Les Dogues side that’s
aiming for a consecutive Ligue 1 Championelle.
The loan move from Liverpool was certainly surprising but Joe Cole is enjoying his time at the Stade Metropole under the guidance of coach Rudi Garcia who has given Cole a freedom that he was not accustomed to during his spells at Chelsea and Liverpool.
While talking to Sky Sports news, Cole said that he is happy at Lille.
I'm playing, and I'm playing well, so basically everything's on track. If things continue like this, it would make sense for me to stay at Lille. In footballing terms, things are going really well, especially given the fact that I didn't play much for Liverpool
last season. I've started off well here and I'm going to keep getting better and better."
So far, Cole has made 15 appearances for the French champions out of which he has started in 10 games. Three goals and one assist so far certainly mean that Joe Cole is slowly getting back to his old self and is repaying Rudi Garcia’s faith in him.
Upon his move, Garcia said that Joe Cole was the most un-English English players and knew what he had signed up for. A player, whose form has slumped to an all-time low in the past two years showed just why he is good at playing in a free role.
With Eden Hazard expected to leave Lille by the end of this season, Garcia is also keen on making Cole’s stay at the club permanent.
Currently, Lille are on a 17-game unbeaten run in the league and Cole’s form would play a crucial part in the club’s aim to win another Championelle.
