England is determined to put up another solid performance at Trent Bridge, reckons Stuart Broad- Cricket News Update
Stuart “Broady” Broad, the Lanky English pacer, stated that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Test rankings after they devastated India by 196 runs in first Test match at Lord’s.
Broad reckons that English side is determined to put up another solid performance at Trent Bridge when they lock horns against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, on Friday, July 29, 2011. The lanky bowler feels that the Lord’s win was the perfect start that they would have hoped for
and now Poms will build on that win.
“We knew we wanted to start the series well. We had talked about it, particularly the first hour, so to come away from Lord's with victory is just the perfect start. We know it's only one Test out of four and that India are the best team in the world, so
we need to be right on it at Trent Bridge,” said Broad.
The 25-year-old pacer continued, “The boys are hunting that No.1 slot and we need to be right on the money all of the time. The boys are really focused on that. It was an amazing win at Lord's, we really enjoyed sitting in the changing room on Monday evening,
but the mind soon switched on to Trent Bridge and looking to go 2-0 up.”
India are scheduled to play a four-match Test series in England and the home side needs to win the campaign by a margin of two games if they want to displace the Men in Blue from the top spot.
Broad, who plays for the English County side http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AJ-Strauss-c964, skipper Test team, helps the side not
to stray away from their focus.
Nottinghamshire’s pacer is pumped up to play in front of his home crowd and is anticipating a repeat of what he did at Lord’s.
Broad reiterated that to be successful at Trent Bridge, the English pace brigade has to adjust their line and length. He opines that pitching the ball up to the batsmen and inviting them to play drives will be a great ploy against Indians.
However, the pacer deems that the English team will have to work hard on their fielding, as catches will come and they need to cling on to them.
