England vice-Captain, Alastair Cook has said that England must believe in themselves for the fourth Test match.
The Perth Test provided another twist in the soap opera called the “Ashes series” as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 managed to win the third Test quite convincingly. For England, it was a thought-provoking situation for them as they were completely out done in the batting department
by the Aussie bowlers.
Many critics now believe that momentum has now shifted towards the Aussies. Most of their players who were not firing in the series delivered a good performance in the Perth Test. England were outplayed in number of departments in the third Ashes Test, but
this has not left them de-motivated as they are still upbeat to deliver their best for the rest of the series. Strauss himself was quite disturbed by England’s performance in the third Test but confirmed that there is no panic in the English line-up after
the loss.
Alastair Cook was of the view that after the third Test England’s batting unit was demoralised to an extent. England batsmen were not able to fire in the match and were dismissed for low totals in both their innings. England batted well in the first two
test matches and number of impressive hundreds came from their batsmen. Alastair Cook scored a prolific double ton in Brisbane Test which helped England in covering a huge deficit in their second innings. But the script of the Perth Test was written in totally
different manner as none of the English batsmen was able to score a huge total in the Perth test.
For Australia, all of their bowlers bowled in the right areas and took a great deal of advantage of the bowling conditions at Perth.
Alastair Cook also said that training of players before the Melbourne Test is important for England. Cook was of the view that England would be going into the Melbourne Test as a confident side because they have managed to play competitive cricket in the
series.
