The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) selectors, on Sunday named separate T20 and ODI squads for the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 in February next year. Admitting that Kevin Pietersen needs a rest to survive a heavy international schedule in 2013, the selectors have rested the veteran batsman for the limited-overs leg of the New Zealand itinerary.
Meanwhile ace spinner Graeme Swann, frontline seamer James Anderson and experienced top-order batsman Jonathan Trott have all been recalled into the 14-member one-day squad, after being rested for the five-match ODI series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in January next year. The trio will, however, continue sitting out the T20 encounters.
KP was also not picked for the India ODIs as the ECB selectors are trying to manage the workload of key players ahead of the back-to-back Ashes series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in 2013-14.

“This approach also provides an opportunity for talented young players to gain more international experience which will be important for their development and the development of England sides in the future,” he added further.
A separate squad for the Test leg of the New Zealand itinerary will be named at a later date. Pietersen, the 32-year-old Natal-born England batsman, is expected to play in the three Test matches against the Black Caps in March before heading to India for Indian Premier League’s sixth season.
