As expected, England have not included veteran batsman Kevin Pietersen in their 15-man touring party for next month’s World T20 tournament, to be held in Sri Lanka. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RS-Bopara-c2373 however has succeeded in earning selectors’ nod for the marquee T20 tournament,
despite missing a major part of home summer due to personal problems.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Geoffrey-Miller-c58870, the national selector, said, "Kevin Pietersen's future involvement is still being determined and he was therefore not considered for selection in either squad."
The 32-year-old Natal-born top order batsman was earlier this month dropped for the third Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Flower-c44362 to the opposition players.
Pietersen, who had retired from limited-overs international cricket in May this year, reversed his decision before the Lord’s Test, but the text scandal meant no place for KP in the World T20 squad as well. The South Africa-born belligerent batsman was part
of the squad, in fact one of the star players, which bagged England the T20 title in Caribbean two years ago.

"It's a sad situation for everyone involved. He played superb in the last Twenty20 World Cup but the circumstances at the moment mean he can't be selected," Flower told Sky Sports News.
The ECB selectors have recalled http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Lumb-c1981 in the 15-man squad. Both Wright and Lumb were part of the World Cup winning team in 2010. However, the duo has not played for England since
June 2011. They earned selectors’ nod based on an impressive Friends Life T20 season with their respective counties.
The same squad will play three T20 internationals against South Africa, in September. Fast bowler http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SCJ-Broad-c2465, who skippers the Poms in the shortest format of the game, has been rested for the upcoming five-match ODI series against the Proteas.
"Stuart Broad has an important period coming up leading our T20 side and with a three match series followed closely by the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World T20 we feel a two week break from cricket is in the best interests of both Stuart and the team,” said the national selector,
Geoff Miller.
