Uncapped http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nottinghamshire-c826 batsman, James Taylor is the only change to the squad that lost the opening Test at The Oval by an innings and 12 runs, last week. Taylor comes in for all-rounder Ravi Bopara, who has been ruled out of the five-day encounter due
to “personal reasons”.
The 27-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Geoffrey-Miller-c58870 said that it is not the form that has cost Bopara
his place in the squad.
"We’ve made one change to the squad with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Miller-c76318 at the press conference called up to announce England squad for second Test.
“James has been part of the England Performance Programme for a number of years and has performed consistently for England http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808 and now has an opportunity to step up and experience the Test environment,” he added further.
England had lost the opening Test comprehensively by an innings and 12 runs, and are on the verge of losing their Test No. 1 ranking. Miller admitted that the Poms were outclassed at The Oval, however he was confident they would bounce back at Headingley
and square the series.
“We’re outplayed during the first Test...but it’s important that this squad regroups and focuses on preparing for the second Test,” said the national selector.
“This is a talented squad with plenty of international experience and they will be determined to improve on the performance during the first Test,” he added further.
The third and final Test of the series will be played at Lord’s, between August 16 and 20.
