England or Australia?

Last year my older brother and his wife moved to Sydney, following the death of our mum. My older sister went out there on a holiday and now is in the process of applying and thinks England is 'going down thepan'. This leaves me and my little sister here in the south of England. my dilemma is: Do I stay and settle in the UK and have all my friends and extended family including my father or start thinking about going too. I would have to get my little sister to go but she is a journalist and I a a nurse so should be ok. I suppose its Family of friends really.....any thoughts, is England going to just get worse?

  1. if you like to spend time with family like you said almost all your family is in Sydney maybe u should go to Sydney but if you want to be far away go to England

  2. I would move, I hate being cold

  3. Well... it is really up to you, depends on what you consider important, and will you happy!

I moved from UK 17 years ago, because

1.The English weather really sucks.. big time (this is the main reason)

2.Things are a bit too expensive, I worked very hard and still   gotta lived in a s**t hole.

    3. I wasn't born there anyway so no family issue for me to stay there...

But i really missed something back there, and I just have to compromise on these,

1.my friends... really missed them, now can ony see them maybe once a year the most.... sometimes longer

2.the culture, I love the westend...

    3. so easy to get to Europe, there won't be 'tea in London and dinner in Paris for me anymore :(

    But anyway, no regrets

  4. Heya,

Its a really tough decision and i understand it can be difficult. However, Australia is a rapidly growing country with load of new bubbling opportunities and an overall improved standard of living.

I live in London currently, but after i graduate at University i aim to migrate simply because there are nations out there which are offering far more opportunities.

    Think hard...family comes first.

As for England, its a lovely place..i love it because it is so diverse and multi-cultural. However, i see more opportunities away.

    I hope this helps.

    All the Best!
