  2. It all really depends on which university you wish to study in. Universities is in the UK and US both offer English Linguistics, but depending on the university one program may be better than the other. I'm assuming you are not from either, nor have been to either country.

Life in the US differs from life in the UK. The US is bigger then the UK, meaning there are many more cultures. The weather in the US is different as well depending if you attend a university on the coasts or inland. Weather varies from snow blizzards, scorching heatwaves, rain, sleet, fog, etc. In the UK, you tend to have rainy days and decent average weather. My opinion, the US wins with weather.

Food in the US is also better then in the UK. Since there are many cultures, you find many different types of food, some good some bad, but for the most part you can find anything to eat, as opposed to in the UK.

The US is also cheaper then the UK. The UK Pound is worth 1.99 US Dollar, meaning the pound is worth double. By this, things are much more expensive in the UK then US.

In terms of safety, it depends on the area where the university is. On a collective whole, the US has much more dangerous cities then the UK. Crime in the UK, doesn't compare with crime in the US, and that's a guarantee.

    Life--US

    Food--US

    Safety--UK

    Weather--US

    Education System--Both

    Culture--Both

    Cost of living--US

  3. I recently studied abroad in London and just got back a month ago. All I can say is, I'm ready to hop on another plane and go right back there! The culture in the U.K. is so much more sophisticated than here in the U.S., and it's honestly just a better quality of life over there. Also, in the U.S. there aren't that many awesome places to go, except for the coasts (east and west). It takes so long to travel across the country, and that's just to get to another state where people speak the exact same language. In the U.K., you have the option of flying to any European country for very cheap. I flew roundtrip to Croatia and Switzerland from London and got each ticket for a total of 50 pounds, about $100 US dollars.

If you're looking for first class entertainment and to be in the best country in the world, go to the U.K. It's unbelievable. There is not a single part of me that does not want to move there for good one day. It really is that amazing.

  4. It really depends on which schools you are looking at in the US.  The US is so big, some areas are great, some areas stink.  You'll have to look at the specific area's crime rate.  So try choosing a place on your preferences... big city, medium city, small town...

Life in the US differs depending on where in the US you are.. NE, south, cali.. etc.  Generally I would think US is more tolerant of different races, but some areas of the south definitely isnt.  If you study in US, once you settle down in your area, you aren't likely to travel much out of that.  Public transportation is horrible.  Most likely you will have to buy a car.

  5. If you want to learn English, go to England - simple.
