England’s coach, Andy Flower, has revealed that his team lost an ODI series in India due to unabated aggression that was visible both on-field and in the dressing room.
According to Flower, the Poms were packed with antagonism and pride after beating the Men in Blue at their home grounds just a few weeks before their tour to the Subcontinent. He opines that England’s hostile behaviour disrupted the team balance and integrity,
which resultantly, cost them a 0-5 whitewash.
The coach is of the view that the English should not have acted the way they did in India, as they were supposed to become the role models for other cricketing nations.
Talking to the media today, the former Zimbabwean captain said, “Yes we overdid it, definitely. We got that balance wrong and it will be addressed. They have driven each other on and driven their standards higher and that's part of the strength of the group.
But in this series we got it wrong.”
He further told, “I heard some of our younger players say that the sledging was an attempt to jog Indian players out of their comfort zone or something equally strange. That is not the case. That was not a team policy at all. We should take our role as role
models seriously and I don't think our behaviour was up to scratch.”
The mentor has also reprimanded the specialist English spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KP-Pietersen-c1806.
He has also recommended International Cricket Council (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625) to take some proactive measures to hamper the way of cricket corruption in the future.
Flower poses to be the most successful English coach, who in collaborations with the team captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AJ-Strauss-c964, has earned the top Test rank for the nation. In his tenure, the side has won two consecutive Ashes series.
Petal is the second Zimbabwean to coach Team England after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Duncan-Andrew-Gwynne-Fletcher-c54742 who is now coaching the Men in Blue.
