England roar back in ODI series with resounding win at the Adelaide Oval
Buoyed by a superb hundred by Jonathan Trott, the English team made a resounding comeback in the seven match ODI series against Australia, defeating the hosts on http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 Day, at the Adelaide Oval. The hosts lost their 3-0 match lead yet are still in a
strong position of closing out the series as they need to win one of the remaining three games to seal the series.
Batting first, the English team got off to a stupendous start, they scored freely at the top of the innings despite losing Andrew Strauss early in the innings. The second wicket partnership between Matt Prior and Jonathan Trott yielded 113 runs. Prior who
had scored two consecutive ducks in the last two innings came back strongly; the wicket-keeper batsman was in imposing form as he raced towards his half century. He eventually fell for 67 runs scored off 58 balls.
Trott carried on in the same vein on the other end, he nurdled the ball around the park on his way to a splendid hundred. Trott's ton included 6 fours; he made 102 runs in all before falling to David Hussey who made the ball spin sharply and rattled the
stumps. The POMS were dealt two major blows when the total reached 153. Kevin Pietersen was dismissed by Steve Smith, who then got the better of Ian Bell as well; Bell was out for a duck.
Eoin Morgan, Michael Yardy and Paul Collingwood added some crucial runs at the end of the innings to propel the total to 299 in the allotted overs. For Australia David Hussey claimed 4 wickets while Steve Smith accounted for 3 batsmen.
The Australians were rocked early on in their chase, opener Brad Haddin and Shaun Marsh fell in quick succession as they attempted to up the run rate.

the closing stages of the match, recording a 21 runs win as the tourists ended 278/7
