  1. the england team went upto third from 7th after beating both the frogs and the outlaws in the resent cup games but with the arfies doing so well they actually went down to four and then when bashing the frogs twice back upto third leaving the deposed champions back down to forth. hope that helps.

  2. We are third, before and after 2003 RWC we were first. Since then we slipped to eighth now we are third.

  3. yup 2nd because they came 2nd in the rugby world cup

  4. They are third. It isn't based purely on where people finished in the world cup, it helps of course, but it isn't everything. For instance, England haven't played very well before the WC, great effort during it, but as said, reasonably poor before it. So I think 3rd is a pretty good effort for them really.

  5. Top 10 on the IRB World Rankings - as at 22 October:

    (Previous position in brackets)

    1(2) South Africa 90.89

    2(1) New Zealand 89.63

    3(6) Argentina 87.56

    4(3) England 85.61

    5(5) Australia 84.21

    6(4) France 80.43

    7(7) Ireland 78.66

    8(8) Scotland 76.83

    9(9) Fiji 75.82

    10(10) Wales 74.08

  6. number two

  7. Third currently. Based on a hideously complex point scoring system understood only by the IRB. I think the rankings should be reset after every world cup. Now let me see that would put us 2nd and Australia somewhere around 8th. Yes I like my system. Put them down where they belong hehe

  8. Agree with mancloud and Debra M. Rankings go on performance before the world cup right up to and during the WC. Off the top of my head (not 100%) I dont think England made it to No 1 (rankings wise) in 2003 either and since then their performance (prior WC) had been really average at best. I fail to see why they should be No 2 in ranking when they didnt put in the effort (prior). They came second in the RWC and thats it and as (amelia rose) kindly added to the mix, they didnt play the likes of Argentina or the ABs, so IMO the rankings are justified.

edit: thanks ledzep.... and the riddler I hear ya lol

  9. http://www.irb.com/

...according to this web-site it says England is fourth in the world rankings.

I disagree though, i say we should be second. Adding the times we have won the world cup with the times we have been runners up, we beat out teams like Argentina and New Zealand.

  10. fourth which is higher than they deserve. They have played like c**p for 4 years and only strung two good games together recently. If there where not double points on offer for IRB ranking they would still be languishing down in sixth spot. They are a terrible side and will quickly slip from fourth down to their rightful resting spot in around seventh or eight spot. SA, NZ & Aussie all will be above them, Argentina as well and France & Ireland will overtake them in the six nations. Bu July next year they will be the insignificant rabble they have been for the four years preceding this world cup.

Edit: Ashar, England were ranked #1 in 2003 and deserved it.

  11. i would say 2nd as they were the ones in the final with south africa

  12. i would have said second

  13. the official world ranking says 4th behind argentina, new zealandand south africa ahttp://www.irb.com/rankings/index.htmlnd

  14. 4th

  15. Congratulations Amelia Rose, Debra M Ashar/97 and The Ridler. The rest of you go and do your research.

  16. 2nd should be

  17. One cannot understand what territory you name ‚England'; therefore one cannot answer your question ...

It is to be assumed that you mean the country, which possesses territories on all continents, the ‚United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland' – briefly ‚United Kingdom'. The name ‚England’ for ‚United Kingdom' is geographical and politically not correct, because it expresses a colonialistic requirement.

The correct term ‚England' designates only a state in this country.

  18. Here it

    1(2) South Africa 90.89

    2(1) New Zealand 89.63

    3(6) Argentina 87.56

    4(3) England 85.61

    5(5) Australia 84.21

    6(4) France 80.43

    7(7) Ireland 78.66

    8(8) Scotland 76.83

    9(9) Fiji 75.82

    10(10) Wales 74.08

  19. Nowhere! Second is nothing! Only the winners count!
