England select best Cricketers for upcoming series against Pakistan
The National Selector of England Geoff Miller has announced a 12 man squad for the first test match to be played against Pakistan in the series of four test matches. The England and Wales Cricket Board has selected the best available team to face Pakistan, who are coming off a morale boosting victory over Australia at Leeds. The Pakistani team is in England to play series of 4 test matches, 5 One Day Internationals, and 2 T20s. The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board has yet to announce their squad for facing the English side.
England’s selectors have decided to give another chance to former Irish batsmen, Eoin Morgan, who has made his test debut against Bangladesh recently. Morgan is an automatic selection in the shorter versions of the game as he is known for slogging at the end of innings. He has played two test matches against the Bengalis in Lord’s and Manchester where he scored 44 and 37 in the two innings he came to bat. He is selected above http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Essex-c783’s batsman Ravi Bopara, who is in great knick after scoring back to back centuries for his county side. Bopara has scored 502 runs with an average of 33.46 in 10 test matches. He last played a test match against Australia during summer of 2009.
The young Steven Finn has retained his position in the test squad. He has played four test matches and made his debut against Bangladesh in Chittagong early in 2010. He has taken 19 wickets with an average of 23.42. Ajmal Shahzad is also in the team for the first test match after recovering from an ankle problem he suffered during the third ODI against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yorkshire-c867.
Kevin Pieterson is back in the team after a thigh injury that forced him out of the team for four weeks. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hampshire-c789 didn’t include him for the county game to be played on Sunday as he has decided to leave the county at the end of the season. With the inclusion of Pieterson, the English batting department will be much strengthened. Especially, after Ian Bell broke his foot the home side was struggling to find middle order batsman. Ian Bell is hopeful to return for the coming Australian tour. Paul Collingwood will also be in the side after he was given rest for the home series against the Bangladesh.
The English side will be negotiating with the world class bowling attack of Pakistani seamers. Pakistan recently bowled the Australian side out on a mere 88 runs in the first innings of the 2nd test match at Leeds.

English fast bowler, Stuart Broad was also given a rest ahead of the big series against Pakistan and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Warwickshire-c862 last week.
Geoff Miller, the National selector, while taking to media after announcing the 12 member squad said, “We have picked a very strong squad for the first Test against a Pakistan side that will be high on confidence following their recent win against Australia”.
England will select the final eleven before the start of play on 29th August at Nottingham. They will have to select two out of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ajmal-Shahzad-c42489, Steven Finn and Graeme Swann.
England squad:  Andrew Strauss (capt), James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Paul Collingwood, Alastair Cook, Steven Finn, Eoin Morgan, Kevin Pieterson, Matt Prior (wk), Ajmal Shahzad, Graeme Swann, Jonathan Trott
