England striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Bent-c10358 joins Aston Villa from Sunderland
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 striker Darren Bent will be coming down to Villa Park as a record deal was struck between the striker’s former club, Sunderland and Aston Villa. Bent had been attracting interest from the Villans since long and they decided
to take action in the January transfer window.
Darren had been enjoying quality form with Sunderland. The Englishman struck 11 goals in only 23 appearances that he made this season. The 26-year-old English footballer had been impressive and the fans will be disappointed after
hearing the transfer news.
Sunderland are currently ranked 6th in the points table and even though they do not fancy themselves of a UEFA Champions League spot, they still seem to have the potential. Sunderland have played 23 matches this season
and obtained 34 points from them, only three points behind their UEFA Champions League competitors Tottenham Hotspur.
Sunderland manager Steve Bruce had built his team around extraordinary strikers, with Manchester United’s in-form and on-loan youngster Danny Welbeck, Darren Bent and the African star Asamoah Gyan. The firepower that these players
brought to the squad helped Sunderland become an outstanding team in the Barclays English Premier League.
The biggest upset that Bruce and his men caused was against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nedum-Onuoha-c27453.
Bruce spoke about Darren’s departure later on. The English coach bluntly said that he was disappointed over the fact that Darren Bent handed in a transfer request. He clearly told in the interview that he had plans for the English
striker but he did not want to stay in the club.
On the other hand, Darren Bent was happy about the transfer. Even though Aston Villa are struggling at the bottom of the table, it is quite shocking that a player like Bent decided to join them. However, he said that he joined
the club because of its “extraordinary” history.
The Englishman said, "There are some top, top players here too, real quality, and I've been able to speak to the manager and the owner about their ambitions for the club. I'm very excited about being a part of what we hope to achieve."
Darren Bent will join Aston Villa in their training sessions. The “former” Sunderland and Tottenham striker is now available to the bottom of the table team as they face Manchester City this weekend.
The fee of the transfer was recorded to be 18 million pounds. However, this is not the final amount paid by Aston Villa and there might be “add-ons” that would amount to an extra 6 million pounds. With all this money coming to
Steve Bruce, the English coach might want to try to sign a new striker that is rumoured to be the Hotspur youngster http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roman-Pavlyuchenko-c31639 – who is not getting enough time in the North London club.
