England team for Ashes announced, Panesar, Tremlett in
The English squad for the forthcoming Ashes has been announced, and apart from the inclusion of Monty Panesar and Chris Tremlett, there are no surprises in the 16-member team.

All the 11 players who played in the last Test match at Lord’s against the Pakistanis have been retained, apart from the addition of the aforementioned two. Ian Bell makes a comeback to the side after his
foot injury, whereas Steven Davies joins in the team as a back-up wicket-keeper to Matt Prior. Tim Bresnan is the other pace bowler who gets into the 16-member party.

Some of the players who have missed the bus despite some exciting performances whenever they had got the chance in the summer are pace bowler http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rashid-c84058.

James Tredwell also may feel a tad undone after being in the squad during their tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747, but with the Australian tracks expected to be hard on the spinners, the selectors have decided to go with
experience in the slow-bowling department.

Ravi Bopara, who was a part of the English playing eleven in four of the last five Ashes Test matches also will miss out.

Andrew Strauss will continue to captain the side, while he will open the innings with Alastair Cook. Cook had been in under tremendous pressure to retain his opening position when he went into the Oval Test
match of the summer against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755, but a century helped his cause.

Kevin Pietersen also got the nod despite some indifferent performances from him, whereas Paul Collingwood and Eoin Morgan will make the rest of the middle-order along with Jonathon Trott.

In the bowling department, Stuart Broad, James Anderson and Bresnan will be joined by Tremlett and Steven Finn while Graeme Swann and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Monty-Panesar-c2024 will be the two spinners in the line-up.

Speaking of Panesar, England’s national selector, Geoff Miller said, “Monty deserves his opportunity to assume the role as England's second spinner behind Graeme Swann.”

Miller also praised the 6ft 7in Tremlett and said, “We feel that Chris Tremlett's inclusion will add a real threat of pace and bounce to our bowling attack given the conditions in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746. Chris will be
vying for a place in the final team.”
