England team veterans impressed by new arrivals
England internationals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 and Frank Lampard have been impressed by the performances of the new additions to the squad for the friendly against Denmark that took place on Wednesday night. Both players praised the displays of Ashley Young and Jack
Wilshere in particular, claiming that they will become mainstays in the squad for many years to come.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 midfielder said, “We are happy to get into the winning habit. It's not always easy when you are bringing on a lot of players but the
players that have come in did very well. We have learned that Wilshere can come in and continue showing the composure he plays with for Arsenal.”
He added, “Darren Bent came in and scores early on, Ashley Young comes on for the second half and scores. It was very good to see that contribution from the players coming in.”
Wayne Rooney echoed Lampard’s sentiments, saying, “I thought http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Wilshere-c17463 did really well. He is really composed on the ball and really good to play with. You can see the potential he has got. With Ashley, he has been playing behind the main forward for
Villa this season. You could see he has benefited from that with the way he did against Denmark.”
Rooney has only scored one goal for England in the past 14 games. He will have to work extra hard to keep his place in the squad, especially after the performance Ashley Young put in against Denmark. The striker came on in the second half to replace Wayne
Rooney and scored the winning goal in the 66thminute.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Young-c6813 cancelled out Daniel Agger’s opening goal. The match in Copenhagen finished 2-1.
England’s next match is an important Euro 2012 qualifier against Wales. If Wednesday’s encounter against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wales-c3041 could be very different indeed.
