England to Claim the fourth Test match at any moment
After an impressive performance from its batsmen, the tactful bowling of the English players have made the team stand on cusp of claiming the victory out of the fourth Test match of the Ashes series.
After finishing with the batting at 513 runs, English bowlers expectedly had to face a greater resistance from the Australian batting order. However, Bresnan, who was given the chance to represent the country in Australia for the first time did the magic
for the visiting team.
While taking control of the ball, Shane Watson was his first prey whom he showed the way back to pavilion. However, that was not it as in altogether 18 balls, for giving mere 2 runs, he also booked the Australian captain Ricky Ponting and the formidable
batsman Michael Hussy.
After conceding for 415 runs and an innings deficit, Australia gave away its first three wickets rather easily and quickly. But this was not the end of the misery for the hosts as after putting 13 runs on the board, Michael http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 was also caught in the
slips on Graeme Swann’s ball. Steve Smith, the last hope for the Australian side who had been proving to be the main hindrance for the English bowlers, could not sustain himself on the pitch either and gave away his wicket for 38 runs.
At the end of the day’s play, Australia was struggling on the pitch while it had put 169 runs on the board and had lost altogether 6 wickets. The way host batsmen are faltering; they are less likely to cover rest of the 246 runs lead. For England, the success
in fourth Test match is just moments away.
On host team’s behalf, Phil Hughes and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 with an impressive average of 5 runs per over.
Despite of the utmost confidence both of the openers were displaying, it was quite evident that amid having a huge score to chase, Australia could not afford to get a blow, which they could not hold as an unwise call from Watson culminated in claiming Hughes’
wicket.
Ponting, who had been under immense pressure after being fined for an exchange of words with the umpires, could not perform well either and soon rendered his wicket to the England’s travelling support.
Now, when the match has become rather one sided, team Australia would be looking forward to step into the fifth and final Test match of the Ashes series with better preparations as only this would extend them the chance to save this year’s series.
