England to send main bowlers to Brisbane to adapt
The English management has decided to send their four main bowlers to Brisbane ahead of the first Test match in the Ashes at Gabba. The move comes as a way of acclimatizing the bowlers to the conditions
in Brisbane which will be very different from those found in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tasmania-c854, where England play the Australian A side in a tour game.
The four bowlers who will leave for Brisbane are pace-men James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Steven Finn and off-spinner Graeme Swann. In a way, this also gives the English hand away as they will now look to go
into the first Test match with the four of them only.
This also means that the last warm-up game between England and Australia A will see the tourists try out some new bowlers. The pace bowling department will consist of Chris Tremlett, Tim Bresnan, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ajmal-Shahzad-c42489
and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Australia-c844.
Apart from the pace bowlers, the English side may also go in with Eoin Morgan in their final warm-up game against Australia A in place of Paul Collingwood or Ian Bell. Collingwood had made a fine 94 in the
last warm-up game to signal his return to form.
Swann has continued to show the form that had made him the number two bowler in the world with his couple of four-wicket hauls. While the track at Gabba may not assist the spin bowlers, Swann has shown the
tendency to spin the ball on any surface and get sufficient purchase. On the other hand, both Broad and Anderson have been aggressive with their pace bowling as well and will look to hit the right areas at Brisbane. The good news for England was that Anderson
had recovered from his rib fracture and played full part in both the practice games.
Young Steven Finn’s form could be a bit of a worry for the side but after a not-so-great start against Western Australia, he had done well in the South Australia game.
The first Ashes Test begins in Brisbane from November 25.
